The Three Movements of All Things (Illustrative Series, Part 3): Resting · Traveling · Breaking Through
How energy rests, travels and breaks through — and why you have long since felt it
An introduction for everyone who always sensed that everything is connected
Written for you. Perhaps you turned away from science because, to your deepest questions, it gave you only formulas but no sense of meaning. And perhaps, the other way round, science told you that your feeling for the connectedness of all things was mere imagination. Both did you wrong. Because what you sensed intuitively — that everything swings according to the same laws, that nothing is truly separate — is right. It is just that nobody translated it into a language both sides understand. That is exactly what we do here.
You do not need mathematics. You only need what you already have anyway: the feeling for images, for connections, for the greater whole.
The one truth beneath everything
Imagine that the entire universe consists of only two things that dance with one another:
The energy — the breath, the driving force, the living. It is always in motion, always seeks equalization, never wants to stay trapped in one place.
The matter — the vessel, the body, that which carries. It holds the energy, gives it form, lets it dwell.
Energy without matter is homeless. Matter without energy is an empty shell — like a body without breath. Only together does everything that is come into being: the stone, the tree, the star, you.
And there is one single rule that everything follows — from the smallest spark to the largest galaxy, from the beat of your heart to the course of the stars:
Energy always seeks equalization. It flows from where there is much to where there is little — until peace reigns.
That is what you always felt when you said "everything is connected". It is connected — through this one, eternal stream of equalization. And this stream shows itself in three shapes.
The first movement: Resting — when everything is at peace
Imagine two glasses side by side on a table, both filled to the brim. They touch. And nothing happens. Why? Because neither needs more than the other. They are in equilibrium. There is nothing to equalize.
That is the basic state of the world: rest through equalization. Where two things are in equilibrium, nothing flows. It is still.
But if they are not in equilibrium — if one has much and the other little — then the energy begins to stream. Gently. By itself. Like water that always seeks the lowest point. Like two people warming each other: in truth the one gives his fullness to the other, until both are the same. You may call that compassion, connection, love. And you are not wrong — it is the same stream that equalizes the stars which flows through two people.
That is the first movement: the silent equalization. Nobody has to set it off. It happens wherever there is an imbalance, entirely on its own. And it stops as soon as peace is reached.
But — and this is important, because it explains the suffering of the world — sometimes a vessel is overfull. More than filled to the brim. Then the equalization is no longer gentle. An overfull reservoir that bursts does not ask the small basin below whether it is ready. It pours out with violence. And so it is on the large scale too: as long as the world stays in balance, the equalization is merciful. Only when too much builds up somewhere does it become destructive. That is why balance is not a boring state — it is the merciful one.
The second movement: Traveling — when something gets going
The glasses on the table are at rest. But now two friends lift them and clink them together. Something has moved. But how?
Here comes something that almost nobody sees correctly — and that you will never forget once you have understood it:
Movement is not a push. Movement is redistribution.
When you lift something, you do not "give" it force, the way you were taught. You make yourself inwardly larger (your muscles tense, your body creates space), and into this space the energy of the object is drawn. The object becomes "lighter", because a part of its fullness is now in you — and the greater whole around the two of you gently presses it to where there is now less. You feel it as weight in your arms: that is the energy that has streamed into you and made you heavier.
And the other way round: when you push something away, you give it some of your fullness. It becomes overfull, and the world presses it away from you. You feel the recoil — you have become lighter.
So it goes in both directions: taking and giving, pulling and pushing. Always only redistribution, never loss. What you take from the one, you have yourself. What you give to the other is missing in you. The total amount always stays the same — in the whole universe not a single drop of energy is ever lost. Nothing disappears. Everything is only redistributed. Perhaps you have always felt that too: that nothing truly ends, it only passes over.
But this second movement — the traveling — does not happen by itself. It needs an impetus. A spark. A lighter at the candle, an ignition in the engine, the decision of your muscles to lift the glass. This spark is what we call the trigger. Without it, everything stays in the first movement — at rest. With it, the world begins to flow, to travel, to act.
The third movement: Breaking Through — when the form shatters
The spark can be gentle — then movement arises. But it can also become too large. Then the third movement happens.
Every vessel can only hold as much as its form allows. A glass holds water — until you strike it too hard. Then it shatters. Not because too much energy would be "evil", but because the form could no longer contain it. The structure gives way, and everything that was enclosed breaks free all at once.
That is the third movement: the breaking through. It is the same movement as the second — only that the spark was stronger than the form could bear. A car drives (second movement). A car shatters against the wall (third movement). The same principle, only beyond the limit.
And here lies a deep truth about the world: everything has its limit. Matter, people, societies, entire civilizations. As long as the pressure stays below the limit, life moves, transforms, flows. If the pressure becomes too great, the old form shatters — and makes room for a new one. Even the shattering is not an end. It is the transition. The energy was never lost; it only seeks itself a new vessel.
Why the stars really do touch you — the bridge
Perhaps you have always sensed that the sky has something to do with you. That the position of the heavenly bodies, the course of the moon, the great rhythms of the cosmos do not pass you by indifferently. Science has smiled at you for that. But listen closely, because this is where the bridge is built:
You are made of matter that holds energy. The moon, the sun, the planets are too. And everything that holds energy stands in the same great stream of equalization. When the great bodies of the sky order themselves — when they line up, approach one another, gather together — then the way the energy streams through space shifts. And yes: that can reach you. Not through magic, but through the same stream that fills a glass and feeds a star.
That is the reconciliation both sides have been waiting for: your feeling of being connected to the cosmos was never superstition. It was an intuition of this stream — sensed before anyone could name it. And the science that finally describes it does not take this feeling away from you. It confirms it. The astrologers, the seekers, the spiritual ones have guarded a knowledge of rhythms and connectedness over thousands of years — only in a different language than the researchers. Both saw the same truth through different windows.
You no longer have to decide between feeling and understanding. It was always the same thing. The stream you felt in your heart and the stream the formula describes are one and the same stream.
The three movements — to take with you
Whenever you see something happen — in nature, in yourself, in the world — ask yourself which of the three movements is at work right now:
Resting. Where equalization reigns, there is stillness. Two full ones side by side — nothing flows. Peace.
Traveling. Where a spark sets off an imbalance, the streaming begins. Taking and giving, back and forth — but nothing is ever lost. Movement, change, life.
Breaking Through. Where the spark becomes greater than the form can bear, the old shatters — and the energy seeks a new vessel. Not an end, a transition.
And above all of it, the one truth you have always felt and that is now also provable:
Nothing is separate. Nothing is lost. Everything seeks equalization. From the spark to the star. From the breath to the galaxy. From you to the edge of the universe.
This is the illustrative introduction to the Law of Equalization. Anyone who wants not only to feel the stream but also to understand it in its precise form — with the quantities, thresholds and formulas with which it can be calculated and predicted — will find it in the scientific part. It is the same stream, only viewed through the other window. Both windows show the same truth.
